Coronavirus generic
THE number of people who have died after contracting coronavirus in localised areas of Dorset has been revealed.
In its latest comprehensive data release, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) examined 46,687 virus deaths that occurred in England and Wales from March 1 to May 31 and were registered by June 6.
In north Dorset 20 deaths have been recorded:
- Blandford Forum Town: 6
- Blandford Outer and Tarrants: 0
- Child Okeford and Iwerne Minster: 2
- Gilingham: 4
- Gillingham Outer, Bourton and Motcombe: 1
- Milborne, Winterborne and Okeford Fitzpaine: 0
- Shaftesbury: 4
- Sturminster Newton and Stalbridge: 3
As of June 18, there were 368 cases of Covid-19 in Dorset and 791 in Somerset.
