THUNDERSTORMS could bring an end to the hot weather tomorrow, the Met Office has warned.
A yellow weather warning has been issued for Thursday afternoon and into Friday morning.
It is valid for Salisbury and the rest of the county from 4pm on Thursday until 9am on Friday.
The Met Office says: “Whilst many places will be dry or see little rain, thunderstorms may cause flooding and disruption in a few places.”
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Thunderstorms may develop across parts of western UK late on Thursday afternoon and into the evening. A larger area of thunderstorms is then expected to move northeastwards overnight into Friday.
“Many places will miss the worst of the storms but where they do occur torrential downpours could bring 30-40 mm rain in less than two hours. Lightning and hail are also likely to be additional hazards.”
The Met Office says there is a “small chance” homes and businesses could be flooded, with “slight” potential for power cuts.
Train and bus services could also be disrupted, and motorists could have “spray and sudden flooding” that could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
