A LARGE quantity of cannabis was seized along with £1,300 cash after police raided an address in Amesbury.

A drugs warrant was executed at an address on Imber Avenue this morning (Wednesday, June 24).

Officers from Amesbury Neighbourhood Team, Salisbury Response, the dog unit and the tasking team were involved in executing the warrant at the address shortly after 10am.

A number of mobile phones and drugs paraphernalia were also seized.

Police say a man in his 30s has been interviewed at Amesbury police station for the offence of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

Sergeant Tom Ellerby said: “With crimes like these, we rely on the public to provide us with information which helps us build a better understanding of the scale of the problem in their area so we would continue to urge residents to contact us with any concerns they may have about drug activity in their neighbourhood.

“Today’s warrant has resulted in a sizeable amount of cannabis being seized preventing it from reaching vulnerable people in our communities. Drugs can have a significant impact on a community as they can often be associated with anti-social behaviour.”
