THE Boscombe Down Aviation Collection in Old Sarum will be reopening to visitors next month.

In an announcement on its Facebook page, it said: "The Boscombe Down Aviation Collection would like to confirm that we will be open from the 7th July, 2020 from 10:00am.

"We are certainly looking forward to welcoming you all back into the Collection.

"Certain things may change and you will have to bear with us on the details as we are currently ongoing, which will be posted in due course."

Boscombe Down Aviation Collection is located on Old Sarum Airfield.

The collection's mission is to tell the story of Boscombe Down and to explain its history with regards to test flying and aircraft development. It includes a vast array of complete aircraft and cockpit sections, many of which are accessible to museum visitors.

After it was forced to close in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, an online fundraising page was set up, which has raised more than £9,700.

The statement on its Facebook page added: "We'd like to thank everyone who has supported us, far and wide, both on our website, social media and on the fundraising page."
