THIS year's Salisbury Pride is being online today (Saturday, June 27).
Salisbury Pride UK had initially decided to cancel the 2020 celebrations because of the current pandemic. However, organisers decided to host a virtual event instead.
Coordinator Caroline Corbin said “It’s so exciting, we have a line up of acts from all over the UK and Ireland. The Salisbury Pride team are grateful for everyone who has helped put on this event. With so many events cancelled this year, it’s important that Pride organisations keep up an active presence."
The event will feature a packed programme of acts, which start from midday, including music, DJs, drag acts and cabaret.
There is a PayPal link open for donations for the 2021 event and there are also vacancies on the Salisbury Pride committee for anyone wanting to get involved.
The virtual event is being held live over Facebook. Go to the Salisbury Pride Facebook page.
