OPTIONS for the Christmas offering in Salisbury are being 'kept open' but there will be no ice rink this year.

Salisbury City Council met on Monday (June 29) for a full council meeting where councillors discussed the Christmas offering in the city for this year.

It agreed that "all options would be kept open until further government guidance has been released and the viability of a Christmas Fayre could be established".

There will be no ice rink due to social distancing measures in place.

The leader of the council, Councillor Jeremy Nettle said: “We understand that Christmas is a very important time for many in our community, and for our local businesses. The city council is keen to support its residents, businesses and our local economy. This is such an unusual and uncertain time that we will keep all ideas under review for the time being.”
