POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was injured in an altercation in Amesbury.

Between approximately 4.45pm and 5pm on June 26, an 18-year-old man sustained bruises to his face following an altercation in Holders Field.

While at the scene, officers were required to assist with a separate medical incident so were unable to gather witness details.

It is believed there may have been witnesses to the incident, including a man who was walking his dog in the area who is believed to have stopped at the scene of the altercation.
