AN area of Gillingham will be closed for five days from today for Dorset Council to carry out roadworks.
Between 9am and 4pm every day, no vehicles will be granted access along the B3081 Stock Hill route, between Field Lane and Wavering Lane.
This is so the authority can complete carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
It is anticipated the works will be finished by Tuesday, July 7, but a signed diversion route will be in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.
Anyone who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the notice in force will be liable to a fine of up to £1,000.
