BARBERSHOPS and hair salons are getting ready to welcome customers for the first time in months.

Many are already fully-booked for July as people cannot wait to get in the chair for a much-needed post-lockdown trim.

Though safety precautions will change the way that hairdressers work, they are eagerly looking forward to seeing returning regulars and new faces.

Here is what some of them have been saying on social media.

THE PAMPER LOUNGE

Swindon Advertiser:

The Highworth salon will be regularly hand sanitising and temperature checking while wearing personal protective equipment to keep everyone safe.

They offered advice to customers in a handy acronym.

P Promptly arrive. 
A Appointment-only (No walk-ins)
M Masks (bring one or we also have them)
P Payment - card only please.
E Enter alone - only one client per appointment.
R Relax and enjoy.

A spokeswoman said: "Although things will be somewhat different we will certainly make your experience as comfortable and relaxed as possible for your appointment."

THE STYLING LOUNGE

Swindon Advertiser:

The Morley Street salon is accepting payments through online banking and booking appointments over the phone.

There is a small price rise and an optional 'Covid fee' to help balance the halved income from seeing fewer customers at a time and paying for PPE.

A spokeswoman said: "My time and appointments are going to be like gold dust right now, so as much notice as possible for cancelling will be so appreciated, any less than 72 hours before will incur the full price of your appointment as fee.

"I am so excited to get my hands on your hair and to see you all."

JESSICA'S HAIR AND BEAUTY

Swindon Advertiser:

The Haydon Wick hairdresser has been busy disinfecting the salon and rearranging the layout.

All appointments must be booked in advance via phone or messages.

She said: "You can rest assured we are adhering to all government guidelines and going above and beyond to provide our staff and clients with the protection required to safely provide our services.

"You can now visit Jessicas Hair and Beauty with the knowledge and confidence that all appropriate safety measures are in place

"Thank you once again to our clients, you have all been do amazing and supportive during this pandemic."

HAIR 2 GO

Swindon Advertiser:

The West Swindon barbers has opted for a queueing system instead of appointments, with customers asked to line up by the Asda queue before being let in by security.

A spokesman said: "A few things have changed but I promise you, we are still the best barbers to come and get your fresh fades and cuts. There will be a list at the front of the shop when your favourite barbers are working through the week and we will be there to answer any questions,

"We cannot wait to see you all and we will try our best to make this work smoothly, the new normal we are ready for you and our great team of barbers are ready."

ROUTE 8 BARBERS

Swindon Advertiser:

The Orbital-based barbers is focusing on appointments, with walk-ins only allowed for people providing their name and phone number.

Face masks will be provided for £1 if you requested but they are not compulsory for customers.

A spokesman said: "Please bear with us as we try to get through appointments while making sure your safety is put first. Thank you to all our customers who have waited to support us.

"Our prices will stay the same as they were before the lockdown and will not be increased, although there will be a £3 booking fee for appointments which will cover the cost of PPE."

RUFFNECKS

Swindon Advertiser:

Staff will be wearing visors and masks, every gown and all tools and chairs will be disinfected and hands washed after each cut,. Customers are asked to wash their hair before the appointment if possible.

Temperature will be taken on arrival and hand sanitisers will have to be used on entry.
