A SALISBURY vintage market has reopened, with additional new traders and stock.

The Phoenix Emporium in Tollgate Road opened in November last year, but was forced to temporarily shut as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Reopening last month, Chrissie and Jules Aplin of The Phoenix Emporium said it is "really great to be back open again", with stock ranging from furniture to books and clothes.

Chrissie said: "The last few months have of course been tough for all non-essential retail, and it is nice to be able to welcome our customers and traders back, in a socially distanced way of course.

"Our traders have been busy upcycling and making items during lockdown, and we are pleased to welcome quite a few new traders in since we reopened, so the pitches are all looking really inviting and there are lots of lovely items to browse."

Social distancing measures are in place throughout the site, including hand sanitiser stations, an entrance and exit system, screens and encouraged card payments at the tills and an intense cleaning regime.

Onsite eatery, The Phoenix Snug cafe, is offering a takeaway service, and the courtyard garden reopened to customers earlier this month.

"We are of course asking everyone to stay at least two-meters apart whilst in the emporium, which isn't too difficult in a 11,000 sq ft building," Chrissie added.
