"SIGNIFICANT damage" was caused to a house in Downton after a burglary on Saturday night.

Between around 11pm and midnight on July 11, a house in Bundy Grove was broken into by offenders who caused significant damage to the back door and then carried out "a messy search" inside the address.

They made off with a number of watches.

Police are appealing for witnesses, and believe the offenders left in the direction of Ringwood, Hampshire, on the A338.

They would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the Bundy Grove area between 11pm and midnight on Saturday, as well as anybody who may have CCTV at nearby addresses.

They would also be interested in hearing from anybody who was driving a vehicle with a dash cam on the A338 between Downton and Ringwood during this time.

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54200068026.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
