A BURST water main flooded a busy York road this morning (Wednesday), causing traffic to back up.
Wigginton Road was said to be partially blocked near the Nestle buildings, with a large build of water on the road due to the burst.
The incident was reported to Yorkshire Water at 8.30am.
A spokesman for the company confirmed that the water main was isolated at that point.
By late morning, the road was said to be clear and Google Maps showed traffic flowing freely again.
At around 1.50pm, the company spokesman added that a team was on site and said once traffic management measures were in place they would carry out the repair to the pipe.
