INTERNATIONALLY renowned violinist Harriet Mackenzie is Wiltshire Creative’s artist of the week.

Harriet is an internationally renowned concerto soloist and has performed across five continents. Recordings include concertos with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Nova and the English Symphony Orchestra.

She performed at the 2019 Salisbury International Arts Festival and had been working with Wiltshire Creative on plans for this year’s event which was cancelled.

The Wiltshire Creative Connects online programme will have interviews with her over the week and tomorrow from 7.30pm there will be the premiere of Harriet performing March 2020 written by Deborah Pritchard, in response to Maggi Hambling’s painting of the same name, which she painted at the beginning of lockdown. Maggi appeared on Grayson’s Art Club on Channel 4 and spoke to Grayson Perry about the painting.

Bach and Ballet, which was due to be premiered live at the 2020 Salisbury festival, is available to watch on YouTube. Harriet filmed her solo violin part from Greece and the dancers from their homes in France.
