A round-up of cases from Salisbury Magistrates Court:

GEORGE BAKER, aged 35, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to beating a woman in Salisbury on May 10. He was fined £120 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and costs of £85.

FELIX REILLY, aged 33, of Wiltshire Road, Salisbury, was found guilty of using threatening, abusive or insulting words towards a woman, with intent to cause the victim to believe that violence would be used against her. The incident took place in Salisbury on December 4 last year. He was ordered to pay compensation of £60 and costs of £60.

GARY COOPER, aged 55, of Odstock Road, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to jointly stealing a fuel can and a metal pole with Jason Cooper, on October 4 last year in Salisbury. The defendant also pleaded guilty to being found in Stockton Close in Warminster with intent to steal on October 15. In total he was fined £190 and ordered to pay compensation of £45.

JASON COOPER, aged 45, of Fairlie, Ringwood, pleaded guilty to stealing taps to the value of £40 in Alderbury on October 28 last year. Cooper also pleaded guilty to being found in Stockton Close in Warminster with intent to steal on October 15. In total he was fined £190 and ordered to pay compensation of £30.

MICHAEL BARHAM, aged 32, of Black Friars Way, Salisbury, indicated a plea of guilty to stealing fuel in Salisbury on April 12, 2018, to the value of £30. He was ordered to pay compensation of £30.

Cases heard at Portsmouth Magistrates:

JAMES HARRIS, aged 25, of Shaftesbury Road, Fovant, was found guilty of dropping and leaving a cigarette butt in Bristol on November 19 last year. He was fined £220 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32 and costs of £150.

Cases heard at Swindon Magistrates:

MICHAEL COOK, aged 39, of Cholderton, Salisbury, admitted breaching a community order which was made by Magistrates on January 4 last year. He failed to attend unpaid work sessions on August 1, 8 and 22, and an office appointment on August 21. He was fined £60 and his time spent in custody was considered time served for the offence.
