"VITAL" donations supporting the work of Wiltshire Wildlife Trust have been stolen at Langford Lakes.
The incident was reported to police on Monday (July 27). An unknown amount of money was stolen from the charity's donation stand sometime between Thursday, July 23 and Monday, July 27.
A post on Wiltshire Wildlife Trust's Facebook page said: "We are saddened to report that thieves have broken into our donations stand at Langford Lakes. These donations are vital to our organisation, especially at this time, to enable us to continue our work conserving habitats for wildlife in Wiltshire.
"We would therefore like to thank the generous person who has donated in lieu of the lost donations - we are very grateful for your help at this time and are reminded of the great positive impact the people in Wiltshire can have."
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We had a report on Monday (27/07) of the charity box being damaged and the money inside being stolen sometime between Thursday, July 23, and Monday, July 27. An unknown amount of money has been stolen and we are appealing for witnesses to contact us on 101, quoting crime reference number 54200073976."
