POLICE were called to reports of a burglary at Select Pet Foods in Fordingbridge during the early hours of this morning (Thursday, July 30).

The incident on Green Lane was reported to Hampshire Constabulary at around 12.30am.

A window on the front door was damaged but nothing is believed to have been stolen.

A police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that we were called out to an incident at 12.32am this morning (30 July) to reports of a burglary at Select Pet Food on Green Lane. Officers attending the scene noted that the window panel of the front door of the property has been damaged. No items were stolen during the incident. An investigations is ongoing in order to identify the suspect involved."

A post on the Select Pet Foods Facebook page said: "At 12.25 am this morning our shop window was broken and we were burgled.

"Please if anyone hears anything could you let us know so we can pass it onto the police.

"As you can imagine this is very upsetting for us as it is heard enough coping with how life is now with out adding this stress as well."
