ANTI-SOCIAL behaviour, noise complaints and suspected drug-related activity at an East Dorset address have led to it being closed by the courts.

Concerns were repeatedly made to Dorset Police regarding the residence in St Leonard's.

Following work with Dorset Council and the housing association, Dorset Police applied to the courts to obtain a partial closure order for the address off Victory Way.

This request was approved at Poole Magistrates' Court on Monday, August 3, meaning the property, which has not been detailed due to safeguarding concerns, will be subject to the closure order for three months.

As a result, all visitors are banned from attending the property. Anyone who breaches the order is liable to be fined or could face imprisonment.

Sergeant David Bowler, of East Dorset police, said: “Following repeated reports of anti-social behaviour, noise nuisance and suspected drug related activity linked to people attending the premises, officers from the neighbourhood policing team have been working with the local authority and housing association to secure this partial closure order.

“The order will prohibit the access of visitors to the property in a bid to help safeguard the tenant and tackle the anti-social behaviour issues associated with the address.

“Closures orders such as this are just one of a number of tools we use as we work with local partners to respond to the concerns of local residents and protect the vulnerable members of our communities.

“Anyone with concerns over anti-social behaviour in their community is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101.”
