STAFF at Salisbury District Hospital gave a socially distanced farewell to the Trust's chief executive.
Cara Charles-Barks took up her position at the Trust in February 2017 and was awarded an MBE for services to the NHS in recognition of her "exceptional and inspirational leadership" during the Novichok nerve agent attacks which she accepted on behalf of the entire hospital team.
She will begin her new position as Chief Executive of Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust on September 1.
She said: “I feel so proud and lucky to have been chief executive here. What I have valued most is our staff’s daily commitment to our patients, providing them with the best care possible. Patients really are at the heart of everything we do.
"All of our staff members treat them as if they were a member of their own family regardless of whether the staff member is in a direct clinical role or not, this is part of what makes working here so special.
“I have also valued our staff’s ambition to constantly improve and do better. And I've appreciated how they support one another, something which we have had an opportunity to really test out these last couple of years. I will really miss being part of 'Team Salisbury'.”
Stacey Hunter will take on the chief executive post at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust on September 1.
