Two teenagers who robbed their victim after punching him and kicking have been sent to youth detention.

Swindon Crown Court heard Jake Frampton struck the first blow after following their victim down a street in Moredon on the evening of November 11, 2018. Lewis Morton struck him over the head with a bicycle seat. Another youth, who cannot be named because he is under-18, has admitted robbery and will be sentenced on Monday.

Judge Peter Crabtree sentenced Frampton to 16 months in a young offenders’ institute. Morton received a 14 month sentence, which will be served after his current 27 month sentence for drug dealing.

Green car, red car...white prison van

Swindon Advertiser:

James Pursey (bottom left) outside Swindon Crown Court

James Uyterhoeven-Pursey led police on a 70mph chase down Dorcan Way in late 2018. Officers were forced to call off the pursuit as they feared the risk to other road users should they carry on.

But they were able to note the driver’s registration and sent him a notice of intended prosecution. Pursey replied – in his own hand – admitting he was the driver. Yet he later went back on that admission, denying he was behind the wheel.

Checks of his social media accounts revealed pictures of the green BMW police had chased. They later found the car near Wroughton – this time having been resprayed in red.

He admitted dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice and was jailed for nine months.
