LOCKDOWN encouraged many residents to get creative and one couple in Laverstock decided to use their time to build an outdoor, book-exchange.
Popular in America, these street libraries enable people to share their books and get to know their neighbours better.
“Since building ours, we have had requests from other residents to make more,” said Rosie Paget, of Westbourne Close.
“We’ve installed three now and have discovered more across the city. Visiting them all makes for a good walk and has given us a wide selection of reading material. Like most people we’ve read more during Covid-19.
"Thanks to our own library, we have made many new friends and it has proven to be a very popular idea.”
