Police say on Saturday, August 8, at the store in London Road at around 9.45pm a man entered the shop and assaulted a member of staff in order to steal an amount of money from the till the victim was working at.

A foot chase took place along London Road in the direction of a housing estate towards a cycle path which leads to Laverstock.

The man is described as white, skinny build, dark hair, and was wearing white-armed sunglasses and blue jeans, a black long-sleeved jumper and black trainers, with a face mask on.

DC Matthew Parfitt said: “This was a scary incident for the victim who was left, understandably, very shaken up.

“We are conducting extensive enquiries to identify the person responsible.

“The man was wearing a mask, which makes identification difficult, but he was wearing white-armed sunglasses and if you recognise them or anything else in the images then we would urge you to get in touch, no matter how insignificant it may seem.”
