EMERGENCY services were dealing with a fire that had spread to a tree in Salisbury last night.
At around 7pm firefighters were called to New Bridge Road following reports of a fire in the open.
Crews from Salisbury and Ludgershall attended.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters found a fire involving a refuse pile, spreading to a tree.
"Two hose reel jets and a covering jet were used to extinguish the fire – the stop came at 8.12pm."
Wiltshire Police said officers were assisting with road closures in the area following the fire.
A spokesperson said: "Due to the emergency services presence, and the scale of the fire which is affecting a large number of trees, we have had to close multiple roads including New Bridge Road from the college roundabout to the New Bridge roundabout, as well as Exeter Street."
