A MOBILE phone and a bag were stolen from two teenagers while they were taking a swim in the River Nadder in Salisbury.

It happened on Friday (August 7) at around 3pm on the Town Path, close to the Old Mill Hotel.

An iPhone 6s, with a pink marble case, and a black handbag with a gold circle on it were taken.

A police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to a theft of a mobile phone and a bag while two teenagers were taking a swim in the River Nadder, in Salisbury. The incident happened at around 3pm on Friday, August 7, on the Town Path, close to the Old Mill Hotel.

"An iPhone 6s, with a pink marble case, and a black handbag with a gold circle on it were taken while the victims were in the water.

"The suspects are both girls aged between 14 and 16 years old, with one described as having dyed brown/ginger hair, wearing a white Nike bra top and shorts, while the other was wearing a bikini top. They were seen leaving the scene in the direction of the town centre.
