A STRETCH of the A31 at Ringwood is closed this morning due to a “serious” collision.
The westbound carriageway is closed between junction two of the M27 and the A338 near Ashley Heath.
Highways England said the closure is "likely to be in place for several hours" and that police have confirmed that collision investigation work will be undertaken.
Emergency services are currently on the scene.
Dorset Police said: “We were called at 8.11am on Friday 14 August 2020 to a report of a collision near to the Ashley Heath roundabout on the A31 in Ferndown.
“Officers are in attendance, along with the ambulance and fire services.”
A diversion is in place with road users advised to exit the M27 at junction two.
There are reports of 30-minute delays heading back towards junction four of the M3 for Eastleigh.
