ENJOY an outdoor screening of an Oscar-winning romantic comedy.

Wiltshire Creative is presenting a special screening of Shakespeare in Love at Trafalgar Park, near Downton, on Saturday, August 29.

Proceeds from the event will support the organisation’s re-opening of its venues and its community and artist development programmes, which have continued during lockdown.

Shakespeare in Love has a screenplay by Tom Stoppard and a star-studded cast that includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Joseph Fiennes, Judi Dench, Cate Blanchett, Colin Firth and Rupert Everett.

The story follows a young William Shakespeare, out of ideas and short of cash, who meets his ideal woman and is inspired to write one of his most famous plays.

The film will be shown on a large 10-metre wide LED screen with the façade of Trafalgar Park as its backdrop.

The venue has kindly been donated for the day by its owner, Michael Wade.

Audiences will be able to arrive from 4.30pm to enjoy their own picnics, before a welcome from Wiltshire Creative’s artistic director, Gareth Machin.

The screening will start at 6pm.

Tickets are £35 each or £25 if purchasing a group of six.

The event will adhere to all government safety guidelines with picnic spaces marked out on the ground, social distancing observed and extra staff.

Further details and tickets can be obtained via the Wiltshire Creative website at wiltshirecreative.co.uk or by emailing development@wiltshirecreative.co.uk
