A SUSPECT has been identified following three appeals for information after a bus driver was racially and verbally abused.
The incident took place on a bus in Salisbury in June, and the suspect has been identified following the release of CCTV images.
The bus, which was being driven from Amesbury to Salisbury, stopped on Castle Street after the driver became aware that a dog belonging to a man on the top deck had been sick and had defecated in the bus.
As the bus pulled over, the owner of the dog came downstairs and verbally and racially abused the driver in an aggressive manner.
Subsequently and as part of police investigations, CCTV images of a man they wanted to speak to were issued.
A member of the public then contacted the police with information and as a result a 30-year-old local man has now been identified and invited in for interview.
