A COVID-SECURE fun fair came to Shaftesbury across the bank holiday weekend with rides, refreshments and more.
Families and adrenaline junkies were invited to visit Cole’s family fun fair on Barton Hill - an event which has been coming to the town annually for several years.
The pandemic did not stop this tradition, with organisers instead adapting to the crisis with new health and safety measures.
These included temperature checks, frequent ride cleans, hand sanitiser stations and social distancing in operation.
Tim Thorn, of Cole’s family fun fair, had previously told the Journal the event had been rebranded as a “family fun park”.
Following the bank holiday weekend and describing the event as “a success”, he said: “We’ve had a good turnout here in Shaftesbury - I have received good feedback about how safe everyone felt.”
With the fair now in Blandford, Tim added: “Even though we’re there the shortest amount of time Shaftesbury is an interesting place to visit. We’re just so happy to be out on the road again.”
