The A36 at Wilton is now clear after a lorry collided with a railway bridge earlier this morning.
An eye witness reported a lorry hitting Kingsway Bridge around 10.05am.
They said the road was partially blocked but traffic was still moving.
Police have now confirmed the incident has been dealt with.
A spokesperson from Wiltshire Police said: "We were called at just after 10 this morning to reports that a lorry had hit a railway bridge.
"Rail Track were informed and an engineer was sent to assess the damage.
"The incident was cleared by 11.15."
