A CHILD at Ringwood Junior School has tested positive for coronavirus.

Headteacher Sally-Ann Evans contacted parents and carers on the morning of Monday, September 21, to inform them about a confirmed case of Covid-19 within Year 3 at the school.

Other pupils have been asked to self-isolate for 14 days after being identified as close contacts. These children will be required to stay at home and self-isolate until October 4, returning to school on Monday, October 5, if they do not develop symptoms.

In her letter to parents and carers, Mrs Evans said: "We have been advised by Public Health England that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the school."

Mrs Evans said the school had followed the national guidance.

Parents and carers of close contacts were asked to collect their children from the school in Hightown Road as soon as possible today.
