A HAMPSHIRE school has confirmed that another student has tested positive for coronavirus.
The Year 11 pupil at The Romsey School has not been on the site since Friday September 11.
The school has said that this is "completely unrelated" to an earlier coronavirus case involving a Year 7 student last week.
Parents of children that have been in close contact with the pupil will be contacted individually. They will have to isolate for 14 days.
Executive leader, Jonathan de Sausmarez, and Headteacher, Annie Eagle, wrote in a letter to parents: "We have been advised by Public Health England that there has been a second confirmed case of COVID-19 within the school.
"We know that you may find this concerning but are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.
"The small number of children who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case will have received an individual letter and will be staying at home for 14 days.
"The school remains open and your child should continue to attend if they remain well."
