A WOMAN in her 60s had an 18-carat gold bracelet stolen in a distraction theft in Boscombe.

At around 11am on Thursday September 3 the victim, who uses a wheelchair, was outside the entrance to the Sovereign Centre in Palmerston Road, by the walkway known as Penny Lane, when she was approached by a woman coming out of the shopping centre.

The woman offered to sell the victim a bracelet and wrapped it on top of a bracelet the victim was already wearing.

She then asked for £2 for the bus and the victim gave her £5 before the woman walked off in the direction of Aldi.

The victim then took off the bracelet and realised her own 18-carat gold bracelet with two small catches had gone.

And police have released CCTV images of a woman they would like to speak to regarding the incident.

Sergeant Steve Boston, of Dorset Police, said: “We are making enquiries into this distraction theft and have obtained a CCTV image of a woman we would like to speak to as part of our investigation.

“I would urge anyone with information as to her identity to please get in touch.”
