A SECOND Screwfix store has opened its doors in Salisbury – creating eight new jobs.

The new store on Glenmore Business Park, Churchfields Industrial Estate, officially opened its doors on Thursday , September17 with customers ready to stock up on the latest tools and trade essentials.

The new Salisbury Screwfix store is part of the company’s growing network of more 680 stores nationwide.

It already has a store on Southampton Road as well as one at Solstice Park in Amesbury.

Open seven days a week, the store also provides a Click & Collect service where customers can order their goods online or over the phone and pick them up from store.

Screwfix’s Salisbury – Churchfield Industrial Estate store manager, Samantha Newlands, said: “We chose to open a new store in Salisbury to better meet the needs of the local tradespeople.

"Many of our new customers previously shopped with Screwfix at our Salisbury – Southampton Road and Amesbury stores, so we’re delighted to bring Screwfix even closer to them for greater convenience.

“Our opening weekend, which ran from Thursday 17th September until Sunday 20th September, attracted many customers. We have received fantastic support from the local community and are looking forward to supporting more busy tradespeople and serious DIYers in Salisbury.”

Since starting in 2013 The Screwfix Foundation has donated more than £5m to local charities and community projects enabling them to fix, repair or maintain facilities.

Screwfix staff are directly involved in helping community projects and host charity fundraising events across the estate.
