JAMES May has announed on Twitter when The Royal Oak in Swallowcliffe will reopen.
Mr May, who announced earlier this month that he had bought half the pub, has said that the Royal Oak will "Boris permitting, re-open on October 28, in a covid-compliant way."
He also added: "It’s a Wednesday. Please don’t all come at once."
Good news! #TheRoySwallowcliffe will, Boris permitting, re-open on 28th October, in a covid-compliant way. It’s a Wednesday.

The former Top Gear presenter also confirmed last week that the pub had taken its first booking for Christmas Day, before joking that they would need more bookings to justify buying a whole turkey, and that the 10pm curfew won't affect The Royal Oak as "it’s in the countryside. Everyone’s in bed by then anyway, because it’s so dark."
Good news from #TheRoySwallowcliffe - we’ve taken our first booking for CHRISTMAS DAY. But we need more to justify buying a whole turkey, otherwise it’s chicken dippers ‘n’ sprouts. pic.twitter.com/gIitOg1tC6
