VIRGIN Media broadband and TV customers in Bournemouth and Poole have experienced issues with their connection.

Residents trying to access these services have suffered problems throughout the morning of Thursday, October 1.

A Virgin Media customer in the BH12 post code area reported that the company knew of an issue in the area, affecting TV, fibre and phone provision.

The status update said the company has identified the problem and an engineer was addressing the situation, with a fix estimated for 5pm.

Virgin Media told the Daily Echo customers might be experiencing "intermittent or temporary loss" of service while essential maintenance and upgrades are carried out.

A Virgin Media Spokesperson : “We are carrying out essential maintenance and upgrades in the Bournemouth and Poole area to ensure our customers continue to get the best service possible.

"Some customers may experience an intermittent or temporary loss of service while we complete the works -  we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

According to online website Downdetector the Virgin Media service is experiencing issues in many parts of the country today, including in the Dorset conurbation.
