A MAN is helping police officers with their investigation after Shaftesbury residents reported a person trying door handles in the area.

At around 8pm on October 6 Dorset Police was called to reports of suspicious behaviour, after a person tried a door hand in Allen Road.

Officers attended and a search of the area was carried out but the person involved was not located.

It was then reported that a neighbour had a similar experience with a man trying their door at around 10.10pm.

A further report was received at 10.43am on Thursday, October 8, of a man coming to the door of a property in Caldwell Close at around 1.40am. It was reported that the man came back past the property again at around 2.30am.

Local officers were made aware and patrols are being increased in the area.
