A STRETCH of Leylandii hedge was destroyed by a fire in Verwood.
Firefighters were called yesterday (Tuesday) to the incident on Manor Road at around 10.35am.
A post on the Verwood Fire Station Facebook page said: “An 8m stretch of Leylandii hedge was destroyed by fire this morning. Thank you for your patience if you were held up in the traffic whilst we dealt with this incident.”
- Two crews from Verwood and Ferndown were called to a car fire on Village Hall Lane in Three Legged Cross.
The incident was reported to Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service at around .8.30pm on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “We were called to Village Hall Lane, Three Legged Cross at 8.32pm – two crews attended, from Verwood and Ferndown, and two breathing apparatus wearers used one hose reel jet.
“The car was destroyed.”
The incident was dealt with by around 9.15pm.
Dorset Police was called at 8.35pm to a report of a car on fire on Village Hall Lane. A spokesperson said: “Officers attended with the fire service. There were no reports of any injuries. No arrests have been made.”
