TWO men have been arrested after a spate of burglaries in the New Forest.

Hampshire Constabulary say the burglaries happened yesterday (Wednesday, October 14) across addresses in Ringwood and Fordingbridge.

The Village Pet store on Ringwood Road in Bransgore was broken into at around 10.52pm and a small amount of money was stolen, alongside charity collection tins.

The Fordingbridge service station was also broken into at 11.40pm and tills removed from the premises.

The suspects fled from both scenes in a green Mercedes, which was linked to a further burglary in the early hours of today (Thursday, October 15) in Dorset, but were later detained by officers.

A 20-year-old man and 25-year-old man, both from Ringwood, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Police say they both remain in custody while police enquiries continue.
