CO DELIVERY, a sustainable e-cargo bike delivery service, has launched in Salisbury.

It will be headed up by Benji Goehl, and already has its first two delivery rounds lined up - Greenslades Fish and Dark Revolution brewery.

The company, which is part of Co Cars, says it is an "effective and environmentally friendly answer to rapidly transporting goods around a congested urban environment".

Its expansion into Salisbury, it says, reflects a fast growing trend for e-cargo, bike delivery services.

Salisbury Journal:

Benji said: "I’m passionate about helping to support Salisbury’s People Friendly Streets project and, by offering e-cargo bike deliveries, help it meet its ambition of making the city an even more attractive place to visit.

“I already have my first delivery rounds lined up Greenslades Fish and Dark Revolution brewery, and am looking forward to working with many more businesses across the city.”

The company say there are "a number of clear benefits to using e-cargo bikes over vans for urban logistics", such as being able to deliver more quickly as they can use cycle lanes, take shortcuts and park with ease, as well as being "vastly more energy efficient than an e-van for the same deliveries; and they have a very small environmental footprint as they produce no emissions".

Tim Greenslade who runs the fresh fish stall on Salisbury’s Tuesday and Saturday markets said: “I wanted to do everything possible to make sure all of my customers – including those who are shielding – are still able to buy our fresh fish. Using Co Delivery means they can enjoy a Covid-safe delivery direct to their doorsteps twice a week.”

Greg Hughes of Dark Revolution brewery said: “We are always striving to improve what we offer and this extends to every part of the process. Utilising a carbon neutral e-cargo bike solution for local deliveries was a no brainer”
