AN appeal has been lodged after civic chiefs rejected plans to build a house beside an existing property.
New Forest District Council (NFDC) refused to support an application relating to a plot of land at Kingfisher Way in Ringwood.
Ringwood Town Council had urged the authority to reject the proposal, saying it amounted to over-development of a small plot.
A report to NFDC members said: "The development would fail to comply with the relevant local and national policies as well as the Ringwood Local Distinctiveness Document.
"The provision of car parking across the whole of the front would exacerbate the impact of the proposals within the street scene."
But the applicant is hoping a government-appointed planning inspector will quash the council's decision.
