A man has suffered bruising and cuts after being hit with a baseball bat in Amesbury.
Around 4.40pm on October 8, a man in his 20s was walking along the pathway between Holders Road and Jaggard View when he was assaulted by another man.
The victim was hit "several times" with a baseball bat, which caused bruising and cuts.
It is believed the suspect left the scene in a vehicle.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
A man in his 20s from Amesbury has since been arrested on suspicion of causing grevious bodily harm with intent and released on conditional bail while further enquiries are carried out.
A spokesperson from Wiltshire Police said: "We are keen to speak to any witnesses to the incident - we believe the victim was approached by a child following the incident who asked him if he was ok.
