THIS IS My Theatre is reviving its critically acclaimed adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

The production is at the The Medieval Hall, Cathedral Close, in Salisbury on Friday (October 30) and Saturday, at 5pm and 7.30pm.

It uses the play’s original language in combination with traditional Scottish Gaelic music and choral song.

Sarah Slator, of This Is My Theatre, said: “In our adaptation of this Shakespearean classic we use the witches as the driving force for the action, the storytellers, without whom there would not be a tale.

"The witches will gather around a fire pit incorporated into the set, to traditional Scottish Gaelic song at the start of the show, within which we will place scrolls listing all our venues affected by the pandemic in the county in which we are performing that night.

"At the first and last performance, at our own open-air venue in Sussex, we will have a real fire burning throughout. The ashes from the first will remain in the fire pit throughout the tour, the real flames replaced by lighting effects. At the final performance, all of the scrolls will be lit to create our final “signal fire."

This is dedicated to each of the venues toured by the theatre company, which have been unable to re-open or host theatre productions since the start of the pandemic.
