A PERSON was seriously injured after being hit by a truck in a Dorset car park.
The collision occurred in the Old Market car park near Waitrose in Sherborne just after 12pm on Thursday (October 29).
Police officers and ambulance crews responded to the incident, which saw a person taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A spokeswoman for Dorset Police said: “At 12.04pm on Thursday, October 29, Dorset Police received a report of a collision at the Old Market car park near Waitrose in Sherborne involving a truck and a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries.”
Residents and shoppers in the area reported seeing a large emergency service presence in the area as officers responded to the incident.
Traffic on nearby Newland and Hound Street was also affected as people avoided the area.
