ARRESTS have been made following an aggravated burglary last month in Gillingham.

As previously reported, a man in his 50s suffered serious injuries when he was allegedly attacked by two men armed with batons who had demanded money.

The incident took place on October 13, at around 2.30pm, at a commercial premises off Newbury.

Now, a 29-year-old man from Weymouth has been charged with aggravated burglary and wounding with intent, appearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court on October 17.

He is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, November 20.

A 34-year-old woman from Blandford, a 42-year-old woman from Wincanton and a 38-year-old man from Gillingham have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

They have all been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
