WILTSHIRE Creative is once again temporarily closing the doors of venues in Salisbury after the government's announcement of a second lockdown.

Salisbury Arts Centre and Salisbury Playhouse will close from Thursday.

The arts centre will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday (November 4) and Salisbury Playhouse will host a screening of Just Mercy in association with Amnesty International at 7.30pm on Wednesday.

Performances and Workshops from Thursday (November 5) to Thursday, December 3 will be cancelled.

A statement on Wiltshire Creative's website said: "Following the successful re-opening of our venues we deeply regret that the government’s recent lockdown announcement means that we must temporarily close our doors yet again.

"We can confirm that the Arts Centre café will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday 4 November and our last performance at Salisbury Playhouse will be a screening of Just Mercy in association with Amnesty International also Wednesday 4 November (there are tickets still available!)

"Performances and Workshops from Thursday 5 November - Thursday 3 December will be cancelled in line with lockdown restrictions."

Wiltshire Creative says that tickets are still on sale for the Christmas season and it hopes to bring audiences "safe entertainment during the festive period, when lockdown lifts".

The statement continued: "Tickets remain on sale for our Christmas season and we very much hope to still bring you safe entertainment during the festive period, when lockdown lifts.

"While this is hugely disappointing news, we will welcome you back again. Your enthusiasm over the last few weeks for returning to our Covid safe venues spurs us on. Thank you for all of your positive feedback and encouragement.

"We will be in touch with all ticket bookers regarding arrangements for all the remaining performances in the Autumn season as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience.

"We have been overwhelmed by the volume of support we’ve received so far. Many of you have offered the value of your tickets from cancelled events as a donation towards our future work or to be kept as credit on your account to enjoy future performances. On behalf of everyone at Wiltshire Creative, we thank you for your ongoing support and loyalty."
