Coronavirus cases in Wiltshire have risen by more than 400 in just one week, according to the latest data.

A total of 473 infections were recorded in the week to October 29 - 50 more than the previous seven-day period.

In the latest weekly period available, Wiltshire Council area had a rate of new cases of 94.6 per 100,000, going up from 84.6 the week before.

The figures are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two).

According to the government's coronavirus dashboard, 44 infections were reported in Wiltshire today (Monday November 2), bringing the total number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 3,256.

Wiltshire Council is due to broadcast a live update on the coronavirus situation in the county at 5pm tomorrow.

However, like the rest of England, Wiltshire will also be under a second lockdown from midnight on Wednesday.
