Police have closed a road in Salisbury city centre after a crash involving a bus and a pedestrian.

A cordon is in place around a bus on Castle Street, not far from Iceland supermarket.

Ambulances and police vehicles are at the scene.

Police are diverting traffic around the closure.

Officers were called about a crash just after 7.20am, according to Wiltshire Police.

There is no update on the condition of the pedestrian at this time.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision in Castle Street, Salisbury, involving a pedestrian and a bus.

“We were called to the scene shortly after 7.20am this morning (04/11) and emergency services are currently in attendance.

“We would urge people to avoid the area at the moment, and we will provide an update as soon as possible.”
