SALISBURY fell silent to remember the fallen on Remembrance Sunday.

A smaller service was held at the war memorial in the Guildhall Square with a number of people there to pay their respects.

There was no marching troops or service at St Thomas's Church this year.

Music was played by the local Royal British Legion band and the service was led by the Reverend Canon Kelvin Inglis, Rector of St Thomas's Church.

Wreaths were laid by the Mayor of Salisbury, John Walsh, and Salisbury MP John Glen.

Salisbury City councillors were joined by representatives from the Armed Forces and the Royal British Legion Salisbury and District branch along with other civic leaders  who gathered in front of the war memorial.

Residents were asked to remember the fallen from their own homes.

Many services in surrounding towns were streamed live or films were prepared especially for the day.
