Eleven burglaries have been reported to police in the New Forest area with four taking place over the weekend.

The break-ins have been at residential as well as commercial properties.

A neighbourhood alert from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We are warning residents to be on their guard following a number of burglaries across the New Forest, specifically those living in the Ringwood area.

"The burglaries happened at various times throughout this period, largely affecting residential properties, but there were also instances of commercial properties also being targeted. It was mostly power tools and other small items that were stolen and as part of this, we are investigating."

The following burglaries were reported to police:

• A burglary at Burley Lodge stables between 6pm on Thursday (November 5) and 10am on Friday (November 6). Crime reference 44200432945.

• A burglary at an address on Lyndhurst Road between 12am and 3am on Friday (November 6). Crime reference 44200431238.

• A burglary at an address on Lyndhurst Road between 6pm on Thursday (November 5) and 8.30am on Friday (November 6). Crime reference 44200430551.

• A burglary at an address on Burley Road, Bransgore between 6pm on Saturday (November 7) and 10am on Sunday (November 8). Crime reference 44200433192.

• A burglary at a number of garages at Burgate Court on Salisbury Road between 10pm and 11.15pm on Friday (November 6). Crime reference 44200432035.

• A burglary at a number of garages at Renoir Burgate Court on Salisbury Road between 10.15pm and 11pm on Friday (November 6). Crime reference 44200431711.

• A burglary at an address on Gorley Road at around 8.40pm on Thursday (November 5). Crime reference 44200431165.

• A burglary at an address on Green Lane at around 1.30am on Friday (November 6). Crime reference 44200430622.

Police say three commercial properties were also targeted:

• A burglary at the London Tavern on Linford Road between 9.30pm on Saturday (November 7) and 7.50am on Sunday (November 8). Crime reference 44200433028.

• A burglary at the Railway Hotel on Hightown Road between 11.30 and 11.30pm on Saturday, November 7. Crime reference 44200432827.

• A burglary at a Sainsbury’s branch on Meeting House Lane between 12.10am and 12.25am on Sunday, November 8. Crime reference 44200432862.

The alert from police added: "We would like to hear from anyone with information on any of these incidents. Did you notice anything suspicious? Perhaps you saw someone hanging around the area? Anyone with information can phone 101, quoting the crime reference numbers above."

Police have also issued the following crime prevention advice:

  • Lock your shed or garage every evening, ensuring that you have a reliable and robust lock in place to deter any would-be burglars
  • Mark your prized possessions by using a property or police approved forensic marking solution only visible under Ultraviolet light
  • Ensure side gates are locked to prevent access to the rear of the property.
  • Record the details of your property such as serial numbers for electronic goods
  • If you notice anything out of the ordinary, such as someone tampering with a lock on a neighbour’s shed, please report it to police via 101.
