SALISBURY Hospice Charity is looking for a team of brave daredevils to face their fears, and take on its first fundraising Fire Walk.
The challenge is scheduled to take place in front of the Guildhall on February 25, 2021.
Participants will be supported by one of the UK’s leading Fire Walk companies, UK Fire Walk. Fire walkers will receive intense training from Scott Bell, who is two time Guinness World Record holder for the ‘Greatest Fire Walking Distance’ by walking 328 feet on burning coals.
Event fundraiser Abi Blake said: “2021 marks 40 years of Salisbury Hospice delivering outstanding care to its patients, their families and carers. To mark this very special year, we wanted to introduce an exhilarating new fundraiser, which has never happened in Salisbury before.”
She added: “The first question most people ask about a Fire Walk is will it hurt? Some say they feel the heat through their soles, others say it’s freezing cold, each walker has his or her own experience.
“We are encouraging supporters to sign up and have a go themselves to see which one they feel. Whichever it is, it certainly won’t be a feeling they’ll forget.”
How to take part
Registration is £30 per person and Salisbury Hospice Charity is asking fire walkers to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship.
The charity says numbers are limited so are advising people to register soon to avoid disappointment.
