A NEW sports bar could open in Southampton.

A sports bar could open its doors in the Shirley area of the city.

The watering hole would be located at 303 to 305 Shirley Road and comes after a licensing application was made to the city council.

Virsa Indian Restaurant which is now listed as permanently closed online was previously located at the site.

The variation application was made by Mr Ivo Freitas.

However, it is unknown when the bar would open.

More information about the plans is yet to be revealed.
